/bin Directory

Hello. I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how I go about unlocking my bin directory and making it writable again. I tried to do installworld with the latest freebsd release and as soon as it gets to the bin directory I get a permissions denied error. I looked at the permissions and ownership compared to another freebsd box and they all look the same. I tried to create a file by using touch just to test it and I received permission denied error. Thanks in advance. Dan

Are you logged in as root?

Yes I am. I figured out the problem, the tech that loaded the server had used the chflags command on the bin and sbin directory. I guess to help secure it. I found this by doing ls -lo and the files all had been set too schg? I removed the flags and everything worked flawless. I am not familiar with chflags I guess I need to study up on the man page. looks useful.

Is like a file attribute command that you can set the file to writable or read-only or append things to it
