what could be the problem ?
Posted by jjk2, 06-26-2008, 03:13 AM i am experiencing some strange thing. i have to reload a page several times. at least once. the templates show up fine, but the actual images and contents do not show up unless i reload the page....this is evident during peak hours but not during normal hours..... i've done tracert, no lost packets. why is it that this happens during peak hours, not normal?
Posted by Sparrow-Sean, 06-26-2008, 03:33 AM Sounds strange, I could put it too the page not fully loading or is really slow. It could be that you are transferring files over FTP... I could be wrong and do not want to make it sound bad, best someone help more with this
Posted by vibrokatana, 06-26-2008, 04:07 AM Sounds like the server is really under load. You see that a lot with websites hit by slashdot and digg (if they don't collapse immediately).
Posted by 040Hosting, 06-26-2008, 05:29 AM Of course its not normal, it should not happen, did you contact your webhost about this problem ? A traceroure or ping only tell something about the network not about the processes on the server.
Posted by YUPAPA, 06-26-2008, 07:00 AM Could be the http server has reached the max amount connections that it can handle. Another reason could be the server has defensive mod / tools preventing people reloading the sites, but it should happens anytime not just peak hours.
Posted by webcs, 06-29-2008, 02:30 PM Yes this is prob it. Either that or another MAX setting is being hit. IE the images may be created via another method then just httpd, they could be created with php calls or database calls. So look at the max variables of that as well. Some ceiling is being hit.
